Aston Villa striker John Carew has shrugged off interest from Manchester City.

"I am not thinking too much about this," he said in Nettavisen. "There is always speculation.

"I would take it as a compliment if they are interested, but I am not spending much time thinking about it.

"For me, it is just speculation and I never respond to speculation."

Asked if he had heard anything official from his club, he said: "No, but even if I had heard anything I wouldn't speak about it!"
