Aston Villa striker John Carew admits he was obsessed with Pele when growing up in Norway.

He told Villa's website: "Pele was my hero when I was young. My dad used to get me videos and I used to watch them all the time then go out and play with the ball and do the same when I was playing football with my friends. He was the one I was dreaming to be like.

"Nobody will be like Pele but you need something to aim for, don't you?! I loved football and I was playing football every day but he made me dream even more. It's great to have somebody to look up to."
