Aston Villa director General Charles Krulak says Villa Park stewards will be brought into line after complaints from one ejected fan.
Krulak has already voiced his concerns with the Villa's head of security, John Handley, after apprentice bricklayer Kieran Comerford, 19, was ejected for "encroaching on the playing area."
Millions of football followers saw the alleged offence during Match of the Day 2 on Sunday night when Comerford headed the ball back into play at the start of the second half, only to fall over the advertising hoardings. Comerford was immediately thrown out.
Krulak said: "Stewards need to exercise fairness in the treatment of all fans. Our head of security is meeting the senior stewards to 're-educate' them on how to carry out their duties.
"Overzealous stewards can destroy the atmosphere as fast as poor play."
