Aston Villa face an anxious wait to find out the extent of the injury suffered by left-back Jordan Amavi while on international duty with the French U21 team.

Amavi had to be escorted from the field clutching his right knee after landing awkwardly in the 1-0 win over Northern Ireland.

The 21-year-old has made 12 appearances first team appearances since arriving at Villa Park this summer and was included by new manager Remi Garde in the starting XI for Villa's 0-0 draw with Manchester City last weekend.
