Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish knows how he wants to spend the cash raised from the sales of Ashley Young and Stewart Downing.
Downing is expected to follow Manchester United signing Young out of Villa Park.
The Mail on Sunday says McLeish plans to spend half of his £18m asking price on Wigan's Charles N'Zogbia as a direct replacement and to reinvest the rest of the money in other areas of the team.
Keeper Ben Foster and central defender Roger Johnson are on his radar from former club Birmingham.
