The Swiss defender has impressed since his free transfer.
Guzan said: "He brings a vocal aspect to organising the guys and making sure the guys are in the right position.
"When you do that, you keep everyone on the same page, which is good. He's been brought in do a job and he's been doing it really well.
"Not that we didn't have that before, because I tip my hat to the guys we were in the trenches with last season.
"No disrespect to them because they are top, top players but he's just come in and brought that cohesiveness that you need. For me as a goalkeeper, it's made my job easier."
