Aston Villa fullback Joe Bennett is still learning the ropes in the Premier League.

Bennett is still finding his feet defensively and apologised on Twitter for his performance in the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg defeat at Bradford.

"The main thing for me is defending and I'm working all the time to improve my game," said Bennett.

"I also played left midfield a couple of times for Middlesbrough but I'm not really used to it.

"I find it much harder than left-back, even though I like to get forward whenever I can. I think that's one of my best attributes.

"I like to be involved as much as possible and get some crosses in."
