Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is weighing up a move for Celtic winger Aiden McGeady.

The Mirror says O'Neill may move for Celtic star McGeady if he can generate enough cash from player sales.

Villa have put a clutch of squad men including Nigel Reo-Coker, Luke Young, Steve Sidwell and Curtis Davies up for sale to raise funds.

O'Neill is after another talented attacking midfielder as James Milner is certain to leave Villa after the World Cup - with Manchester City his likely destination.

And former Celtic manager O'Neill has earmarked his old protege McGeady as a potential replacement.
