David Villa is excited by the arrival of former Chelsea star Frank Lampard to New York City FC.
Lampard signed a contract with new MLS franchise at the end of the 2013/14 campaign following his release from Chelsea.
However, his move to New York was delayed by the fact that the midfielder elected to join NYCFC's parent club Manchester City on a season-long loan deal last term.
With the Premier League campaign recently concluding, Lampard is set to finally arrive at New York and teammate-to-be Villa is certainly excited at the prospect of linking up with the 36-year old.
"I think any team would be delighted to have Frank Lampard on their team," said the Spaniard.
"A few additions will be very helpful. Not only Frank Lampard, but new players that will probably come in the summer transfer window.
"I think we are very much looking forward to Frank Lampard coming as soon as possible. He will be here very soon, but he won't be able to play until July 1."
