Aston Villa fullback Luke Young has welcomed interest from Sunderland.

The former England international has declared he intends to leave Villa Park this summer.

The Evening Chronicle says Young would jump at a move to the Stadium of Light after falling out of favour with club and country.

The 30-year-old has been told he is surplus to requirements at Villa, who value him at around £3m.
