Aston Villa captain Ron Vlaar admits he's spoken with Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.

The centre-back, who starred for Louis van Gaal's Holland at the World Cup, will be available for free in the summer when his Villa contract runs out.

However, he told Fox Sports: "There are many rumours floating around, but we've never talked about it.

"There has never been contact and I'm not spending any time thinking about it.

"I want to play football. I'm fit."
