Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has no doubts James Milner will benefit from his experience against Brazil on Saturday.
O'Neill reckons Milner's performances for the Three Lions have enhanced his reputation within the national setup.
He told AVTV: "I've said this before but those type of games, playing against the very, very best can only give you confidence, particularly when you've done well in the game.
"I hope I'm not speaking out of term or too soon for him, but I think he is well liked by the management team - and why shouldn't he be really? But I think everybody at the football club is thrilled for him. He did well in the game.
"It was a friendly game after all and I'm not so sure England should be subjected to the sort of criticism that they received afterwards but if anybody came out of it reasonably well, it was James."
