Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish wants to keep hold of defender Carlos Cuellar.
The Spaniard is wanted back at Rangers.
"I met Carlos today and we had a word," he said. "Cuellar has an injury at the moment and the physiotherapist will keep me up to date as to when he will be ready again.
"I am aware there is interest from Rangers, but it could be the case we will keep Carlos here and he can fight for his first-team place again."
