Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert will focus on the local transfer market this summer.
The Daily Mail says last summer Lambert took gambles on Libor Kozak, Antonio Luna, Nicklas Helenius, Leandro Bacuna, Jores Okore, and Aleksander Tonev for a combined £15m but many have flopped.
He is instead preparing to bring in a small number of higher calibre players established in England's top-flight.
