Villa boss happy to have fit-again Berger

Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is happy to have a fit-again Patrik Berger available to him.

O'Neill could be set to hand the 33-year-old playmaker a role in the Carling Cup tie against Leicester at Villa Park on Wednesday.

Berger came through his first match of his season in the reserves' 4-1 home thrashing of Derby County in midweek.

"It's encouraging to see him back in action", said the Villa boss. "If Patrik can recapture the form he showed at the end of last season, he can play a big part for us. I have no doubts about that.

"That's why we extended his contract, because he showed he was still capable of playing such good stuff."
