Nice coach Patrick Vieira axed Mario Balotelli for their Cup defeat to Guingamp last night.

Nice are now out of the Coupe de la Ligue and Vieira says former AC Milan striker Balotelli could be sold next month.

“Mario Balotelli will not be in the squad against Strasbourg on Saturday either," confirmed Vieira to reporters.

“It's the decision of the Coach."

Asked if Balo was heading towards the exit in January, Vieira did not deny it.

“He is under contract. Anything is possible."
