For the moment, reports Sport, negotiations between the two clubs have been suspended on Lautaro's request. The Argentina striker feels it would be better to pull back as both Spain and Italy manage the coronavirus crisis.
However, Barca are now discussing internally how to convince Inter to sell without meeting his €111m buyout clause. Barca would prefer to negotiate a price with Inter in order to maintain good relations.
And emerging as a key in those plans is Vidal, who Inter failed with a January offer for this year.
Vidal played for Inter coach Antonio Conte at Juventus and the pair remain on good terms. And Barca are hopeful that including the Chile international in their offer will be enough to land Lautaro this summer.
