Arsenal's 17-year-old winger Jonas Rasmussen has been handed trials by Viborg.

The young Dane only signed a three-year contract at the start of last season, but is now eyeing a return home.

Viborg sporting director Steffen Højer said: "Ever since Jonas moved to Arsenal in the summer of 2007, we have had an eye on him because we would like to be there if Jonas ever got the urge to return to Denmark, and start a career here.

"There is no doubt that when a great English club like Arsenal, agrees a contract with a young talent, the player has no doubt some potential. I could well imagine that Jonas Rasmussen will show the same value and talent that our own young Under 18's stand for."
