Giampiero Ventura has hit out at critics over his decision to quit Chievo Verona on the weekend.
Ventura left the post after less than a month in charge.
"This time I will not tolerate lies," former Italy coach Ventura told Ansa.
“I arrived at Chievo because President Campedelli is a friend and the difficult moment for the team coincided with my strong desire to get back to coaching.
“I then decided to interrupt this rapport, not because of the results, but when I became certain that although we wanted to achieve the same end result – Serie A safety – the club and I wanted to get there via different paths.
“At that point, I couldn't expect them to agree with my ideas, nor could I share their approach.
“I would've left Chievo even if we had beaten Bologna on Sunday. I gave up on a two-year contract and didn't ask for much in return."
