Velez Sarsfield striker Juan Manuel Martinez is in the sights of Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail says nicknamed 'the little donkey', the 25-year-old was a target for Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers earlier this summer but their interest has waned.
Newcastle are now amongst a trio of clubs keen, with Napoli and Sevilla also in the running.
The Argentine international was voted player of the year in Argentina last year.
