Vecino: Things to learn from Inter Milan win at Ludogorets

Matias Vecino says Inter Milan's players were delighted with the manner of their Europa League win at Ludogorets.

Inter won the first-leg of their round 32 tie 2-0 thanks to goals from Christian Eriksen and Romelu Lukaku.

Vecino said at the final whistle: “We knew that it wouldn't be an easy game, there are many sides who want to make a good impression against Inter. We didn't play at the right intensity in the first half. We spoke at the break and managed to press higher and raise the tempo in the second 45, with this leading to a great victory.

“When you play every three days, you can't be expected to play with intensity for 90 minutes. We need to learn to manage moments in games. We're at the beginning of a journey and need to take it game by game as we try to stay in the competition until the very end. I feel good physically and can feel the Coach's confidence in me.

“We came here to achieve an important result, also with the return fixture in mind. We need to continue to work because we've got another game in three days. After two defeats, we wanted to return to winning ways. We knew that we needed to raise the intensity to pick up a win and we did well to do this."
