Lucas Vazquez has paid tribute to departing Real Madrid teammate Raphael Varane as he moves to Manchester United.

The Frenchman is all set to complete his Old Trafford switch after the club confirmed they had agreed a £42m deal to bring the World Cup winner to England.

The centre-back has lifted 18 trophies with Madrid, sharing the glory with Vazquez for 11 and lifting three Champions Leagues alongside the Spaniard – who was compelled to pay tribute to his team-mate even before he's left the Bernabeu.

"It has been a great pleasure to play with you during these years, thank you for everything we have achieved together and what we have experienced," Vasquez wrote on Instagram, attaching three shots of the pair together.

"We will miss you amigo, I wish you the best in your new phase."
