Sydney FC reject James Vaughan has won a contract with Oldham Athletic. The English fullback had trials with Sydney and Central Coast Mariners this preseason, but wasn't offered terms.

However, Vaughan, 22, has been offered a 12-month deal by Oldham and will return to England next week.
