Former England striker Darius Vassell has been linked with a move to Championship club West Brom according to reports emanating from Turkey.

The 29-year old is currently under contract with Turkish Super Lig outfit Ankaragucu but it seems his future at the capital club is clouded as they are experiencing financial difficulties.

Along with the Baggies, Vassell is also attracting interest from Premiership clubs Portsmouth and Bolton and it seems he would prefer a move to the top flight.

A lack of strikers on the south coast indicates that Portsmouth may make a move for the ex-Aston Villa and Manchester City man in January.
