Raphael Varane says he and Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos are good for eachother.
It is often said that Ramos elevates the performances of those around him, but the Frenchman argues that it also works the other way.
"I always feel more comfortable when we defend more compactly," Varane said during Monday's pre-match press conference.
"When the team doesn't defend well, we have to make more complicated decisions at the back.
"It is true that we have not been good without Sergio in the Champions League. But this is a matter for all of us [to address]. "I make him better and he makes me better. But defending is a collective thing."
