Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane is full of praise for teammate Karim Benzema.

It's emerged Benzema has agreed a new deal to 2022 in the last 24 hours.

Varane said of the French striker: "He is at the top of his game, clearly.

"Psychologically, I feel it (he thinks) ... Calm. The word that comes to me is 'appeased'. He is straight in his boots and physically he is sharp. He took his role as attack leader to heart.

"He is fully fulfilled, he no longer surprises me. What I find strong is the consistency of his performances. Not just the stats, not just the goals, but what he does in the game, the content of the games, it's huge. And that, every three days (smile)..."
