Varane agrees five-year contract with Man Utd, but Real Madrid talks...

Raphael Varane has agreed a five-year contract with Manchester United.

The Real Madrid defender will sign a contract with United until 2026, per Goal.

But United have not yet submitted an offer for the French centre-back, with Varane's contract set to expire next summer.

With Varane seeking an exit, Real would be forced to cash in this summer.

The Red Devils therefore feel they have the advantage in negotiations and are happy to bide their time in the hope Real will cave before the summer window closes.

Given his respect for Los Blancos, who he joined as a teenager in 2011, Varane will not hand in a transfer request.

The 28-year-old will significantly increase his wages at Old Trafford, having earned a salary of €6m with Real in previous years.
