Vancouver Whitecaps add Sampson as Homegrown Player

Vancouver Whitecaps have signed Ethen Sampson as a Homegrown Player.

The 20-year old defender joins the Whitecaps senior roster after impressing with the U23 team last season.

Sampson, who becomes the club's ninth Homegrown player to sign a MLS contract, will bring plenty of versatility to Carl Robinson's squad ahead of the 2014 MLS campaign.

"Ethen is a player we've gotten to know very well from his time with the club over the last year," said Whitecaps head coach Robinson.

"He has a number of qualities, such as his desire, versatility and physicality, that will be valuable to our squad."
