Former Manchester United winger Gyliano van Velzen is following the progress of Tahith Chong closely.

Currently tied to Crawley Town, Van Velzen has spent this season on-loan with Aldershot.

On fellow Dutchman Chong, he told Voetbalzone: “I will follow him and from what I can see he is a very talented boy.

"I hope good things for him and I hope he can continue this line a bit and develop himself."

Van Velzen added: “My time at United really helped me.

“I trained with players like Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes at the time. Scholes was just really that good, that man had so many qualities. Nobody could take the ball from him, he was always one step ahead of everyone. He always knew the solution, it was really absurd how good he was."
