Chelsea have offered Marco van Ginkel a new contract.
The Dutch midfielder is recovering from knee surgery and says he's now in the final stretch of his rehab.
He told Eindhovens Dagblad: "It is not over yet. The prospects are very good now.
"I worked very hard to come back and can now handle four or five training sessions a week. I was almost ready to join the group in March and I was allowed to participate in tackling in training sessions, but then corona took hold. I can still play a few times in a match this summer."
Van Ginkel's agent Karel Jansen is now speaking to Chelsea about a new deal.
He added: "It is not a bad thing that a club tries to keep you in such an uncertain time after such a long injury period. Apparently they still see something in me, although we still have to get out of it."
