Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is insisting on total control of summer transfers.

The Sunday Mirror says the Dutchman will look to bring in his own players this summer.

He was happy to rubberstamp the £150million signings United made last summer because he was late taking charge at Old Trafford following Holland's progression to the World Cup semi-finals.

Van Gaal will instruct United not to take up the £43million option to buy Radamel Falcao from Monaco as the Colombian striker continues to make little impression during his loan deal.

And Juan Mata's future is also coming under scrutiny.
