Holland coach Louis van Gaal has rejected the Tottenham job - clearing the way for him to become manager of Manchester United. The Mirror says Van Gaal, 62, who will take Holland to this summer's World Cup in Brazil, was being lined up to take over at White Hart Lane next season.
But he has also been monitoring events at Old Trafford and Dutch sources claim that Van Gaal has now told Spurs that he is no longer interested in the job.
Van Gaal has an outstanding cv that has seen him win titles in Holland, Spain and Germany with Ajax, AZ Alkmaar, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
