Louis van Gaal insists Angel di Maria has himself to blame for failing at Manchester United.
PSG winger Di Maria has previously criticised his former manager for the part he played in his struggles, stating: "After one fight, things weren't the same. The relationship wasn't the same."
But Van Gaal has now hit back and blamed the attacker for his inability to adapt to the demands of the Premier League despite being tried in a range of different roles.
"Di Maria says it was my problem," Van Gaal told BBC Sport. "I played him in every attacking position. You can check that.
"He never convinced me in any of those positions.
"He could not deal with the continuous pressure on the ball in the Premier League. That was his problem."
