Rafael van der Vaart has become a born-again-footballer following his move to Tottenham after his unhappy two year spell with Real Madrid. The 27-year-old has proved an instant hit with the Spurs fans since his move to White Hart Lane in August after an unhappy two years at Real Madrid.
"After my time at Real Madrid, which was not a very happy one, I have rediscovered my love for the game at Tottenham," he said in an interview with Sport Bild magazine.
"My heart is now at Tottenham. It is not a huge club but rather a real traditional club, like I have already learned to love at Hamburg or Ajax."
Tottenham is Van der Vaart's fourth club in four different countries and he feels the time has come to stay put for a while.
"The changes should now come to an end. Also for my family. My son speaks four languages by now. That's enough," he said.
"I feel settled in London and would like to play here for many years."
