Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek admits the players could hear the boos for skipper Harry Maguire during today's friendly win against Crystal Palace in Melbourne.
Maguire's name was jeered when the teams were read out before kick-off and his first few touches of the ball were also met by audible boos from a 76,000-strong crowd.
Van de Beek praised the captain's display at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
“I heard as well. I didn't know really what happened. But I think if I saw the game today I think Harry was playing really well," said the Dutchman.
“He was aggressive, he got so many balls, so that means he has a big personality.
“He has a lot of experience, so I think that's positive what he (showed), his performance today."
