Carl Valeri scored an important goal for Italian Serie B club Grosseto yesterday.

The 25-year old Australian international put his side two goals ahead of Frosinone when he struck in the 28th minute to add to Mauricio Ferreira Pinilla's earlier penalty.

Frosinone were further hindered when two players were sent off in the 45th minute but they managed to claw their way back into the game with just nine men on the hour-mark when Fabio Mazzeo.

Grosseto had one of their own sent off in the dying stages but managed to hold on for a victory that kep them sixth on the table.
