Valencia striker Cavani leaves door open to future Boca Juniors move

Edinson Cavani has explained his decision to sign for Valencia.

The Uruguayan veteran joined Valencia after coming off contract at Manchester United, rejecting several clubs in the process.

Asked about Boca Juniors, Cavani said: "I knew there were people waiting for my arrival. My friends told me but everything was created incorrectly, saying things that were not true.

"With (Boca chief Juan Roman) Riquelme I was clear, we always talked and we knew what the situation was like. I was attracted to the project, no doubt, but I gave priority to Europe and in particular to Spain, because I want to prepare myself as best as possible for the World Cup.

"I thanked Román very much, you don't know never what will happen in the future."
