Valencia have completed the permanent signing of fullback Joao Cancelo.

The former Benfica defender has spent this season on-loan with Los Che and attracted interest from Manchester United and Manchester City.

But the youngster has penned a six-year deal with Valencia this week.

Benfica confirmed that then 20-year-old has signed for Valencia until June 2021.

The defender made 10 league appearances last season - five in the starting XI and three in the Copa del Rey. He is currently with the Valencia squad on route to the United States where the club will present a sponsorship agreement with the United Nations on Tuesday, and play a friendly with Columbus Crew in Ohio on Wednesday.
