Valencia reject Kondogbia outburst after Atletico Madrid deal collapse

Valencia have rejected Geoffrey Kondogbia's outburst as a move to Atletico Madrid breaks down.

Free to sign an emergency replacement outside the transfer windows after losing Thomas Partey, Atletico have identified Kondogbia as the midfielder to succeed the Arsenal signing.

But the move appears off, with Kondogbia taking to social media to blast VCF president Anil Murthy: "After having destroyed an ambitious project, you had to deceive your coach and finally me. Thank you Anil Murthy."

But a club source told AS the offer from Atletico was for a loan with a permanent option and was made three days after the deadline fell last Monday. The prospect of losing Kondogbia without the ability to sign a replacement meant Valencia had no choice but to reject the offer.

Kondogbia feels cheated. According to the version of his environment, Valencia had been told several times during the summer that he was looking for another team, with Leeds United among those in contact, and he is angry that once he presented the proposals, none were accepted.
