Valencia line up Man City boss Pellegrini as Neville successor

Spanish club Valencia want Manuel Pellegrini as their next manager.

Los Che sacked Gary Neville on Wednesday after just four months in charge and are now in the process of finding a replacement.

There have been immediate reports linking former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho with the job at the Mestalla but the name of Manchester City manager Pellegrini has re-emerged on the scene.

The Daily Mail reports that Pellegrini's representatives have held talks with Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch regarding the possibility of taking over once his contract at the Etihad Stadium expires at the end of the season.

Bayern Munich's Pep Guardiola will replace Pellegrini at City and the Chilean is believed to be interested in the Valencia job having kept his house in the east coast city following his time spent at nearby Villarreal between 2004 and 2009.
