Canizares fears Los Che's lack of stability is hurting their chances of keeping their best players.
He told Marca: "Paco Alcacer would not have left if the Valencia team was more competitive than at present.
"Normally, he'd play ten or twelve years and five hundred matches for a stable club. We'll see how this season is going to pan out and if the team can move forward and regain a Champions League spot.
"This could be a better squad in the future, but the way things are, I'm not sure."
