Valencia are ready to seek permission to make an emergency defensive signing.
Ezequiel Garay is expected to be confirmed to be out for the remainder of the season due to a serious knee injury and Los Che will seek RFEF permission to sign a replacement.
The player they have in their sights is Real Madrid defender Javi Sanchez, currently on-loan at Real Valladolid.
Valencia have already agreed personal terms with Javi over an 18 month deal and Valladolid are happy to release him as he's managed only one Copa del Rey appearance this season.
The stumbling block is Real Madrid, reports AS. They're happy to send Javi to Valencia on-loan, but do not want to include a purchase option. Negotiations are continuing today.
