Valencia coach Marcelino is eager to ease expectations going into the new season.

Marcelino is approaching the season with caution and is warning supporters that demanding a similar success will be tough.

"Is it possible to improve on last season's qualification? It is very difficult," he admitted.

"We should not be required to improve on fourth place, it is unreal.

"Should we have the ambition to improve? Of course!"

While he has acknowledged that the season will be challenging, he does believe that he has a better selection of players at his disposal this term.

"I have no doubt that we have a better team than last year," he asserted.

"Valencia are a lot better now than they were two and three years ago."
