Valencia coach Marcelino allows Batshuayi back to training - but that cake scoffing...

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi is again training with Valencia.

Batshuayi was granted two days off by Los Che to close a deal with AS Monaco, but he is back with VCF after the move fell through.

The striker celebrated his return by posting a photo of himself eating a big piece of cake - an image which coach Marcelino was asked about yesterday.

"What has moved us to make the decision is his performance on the field. As I am quite short I think that habits also lead to performance. If you are slack on a day-to-day basis, the performance may be irregular, but this is a personal assessment, I have always done sports, performance evaluations, then we try to advise to help them achieve the maximum performance, but never to impose," said the coach.

"We are all quite old, players must know what their habits should be to achieve maximum performance: I'm not going to make a player not eat or stop eating or if you have a wife or partner or if you go out to party, there is time for everything.

"With the amount of situations I face, I will not think about what dessert a player eats because I'd go crazy.

"Chelsea is the owner of his rights and it has not yet been resolved, but it will be resolved before the end of January."
