Valencia coach Javi Gracia has no idea if he will be able to make signings next month.

Gracia says the squad needs to be improved, but he hasn't had word from the board about whether he'll be allowed to do so.

He said, "Everything we say is going to sound like an excuse. The academy boys are young, they need their time, mistakes, to grow. With four games in eleven days you have to distribute minutes.

"It is not my responsibility to know about the players who are going to leave, that I do not know or those that may come, that I do not know. I haven't had a meeting and I honestly don't think I'm going to have one."

He continued: "You already know what my situation is and it has been explained clearly. And with regard to the signings as well. I don't really know the situation. I don't know if they are going to leave, because I think nobody knows if players are going to leave or not. And I don't really know if players are coming either. Thats the reality. You insist on me, you insist on me and I understand it. But I can only say what I know and what there is."
