Valencia coach Bordalas delighted with impressive victory over Alaves

Valencia coach Jose Bordalas was left delighted with victory over Alaves.

VCF were comfortable 3-0 winners on the day as Daniel Wass, Carlos Soler and Goncalo Guedes struck the goals.

Bordalas said, "First of all, I want to congratulate the players. Their behaviour was excellent in terms of attitude, commitment and the way that they played. It was a great game. We managed to go ahead very early and we controlled the game. We minimised the virtues of the opposition and went 2-0 up before halftime. In the second half we were in control.

"With the third goal, the team were able to manage play. I want to thank the fans, because their commitment is very important for us in games at home, making Mestalla are a tremendously tough ground for the opposition.

"Hopefully we can see Mestalla full soon. I think the fans, the city and the team need it. Interesting things have been seen in terms of the game and the group. The collective is more important than any of us. All the players worked for the team and that is very important.

"The fans recognised it. We always look at it with the caution that this is only the beginning of the season and we still have to improve many things, because this has only just begun."
