Colombian legend Carlos Valderrama can't see Bayern Munich midfielder James Rodriguez returning to Real Madrid.

James is in the second season of a two-year loan at Bayern.

"James looks good, happy in Bayern Munich. If he has not returned to Real Madrid so far, I do not think he will ever go back," said Valderrama.

"What James did in the first year with (Carlo) Ancelotti was huge at Real Madrid, there was nobody who thought he would do what he did. I knew because I've known him a long time and believed in him a lot.

"He had a great season. What happened later was weird. I did not understand and in Colombia we do not understand that either."
