Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano says they need to be careful moving for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

After watching Real's dismal defeat at Rayo Vallecano, Valdano insisted Pogba would offer nothing to their midfield.

Valdano said: "Pogba would not contribute much to the game of Madrid.

"But he would contribute goals. Pogba is more a goalscorer on his own than all of Real Madrid's midfield."

On the defeat, he added: "Madrid were a set of individuals, each wanted to make war on their own but when they reached the third quarter of the field, without (Karim) Benzema, they fell down a precipice."
