Fenerbahce midfielder Mathieu Valbuena has dismissed the latest swipe from Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Benzema has been frozen out of the France squad ever since becoming embroiled in an alleged blackmail scandal involving Valbuena.

The latter recently stated he'd be willing to "shake hands" with Benzema, who later replied: "You can keep your hand."

"It's pathetic ... But I do not want to go in there," Valbuena posted to Instagram yesterday.

"I want to talk football now."

Asked about Benzema returning to the France squad, he added: "Oulala, I can't comment."
