FC Utrecht midfielder Michael Silberbauer is hoping he can complete a January transfer to Scottish giants Celtic.

The 29-year old has attracted interest from the Hoops in recent times and a source close to him revealed to the Scottish Sun that he would indeed love to set up camp at Parkhead.

"Michael has been told Celtic are interested in him and he would be interested in a move to Scotland. He has a lot of options with other clubs also looking at him but Celtic are a famous European club and he already has experience of playing at Celtic Park," the source said.

"Neil Lennon knows all about him. It would be a good transfer for Michael at this stage of his career."

Silberbauer has been at the Dutch club for the past two-and-a-half seasons after crossing from Danish outfit FC Copenhagen.
